1986 email?

[edit]

Please explain this. How? Thought that was still the era of telex. 203.221.97.184 (talk) 05:31, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Pentagon was using e-mails by the 1980's. Rja13ww33 (talk) 21:14, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Satire in Clinton Street Quarterly

[edit]

North was memorably satirized in a centerfold comic strip in the long-defunct Clinton Street Quarterly. I am unaware of any archive of this publication, but if you are, please bring it to light. A reference to a source for it would be worth creating an In Popular Culture section to this article. Perhaps someone can find it, scan it, and add it to the Internet Archive.

There is an archive of Clinton Street Quarterly.[1] The Oliver North satire is here.

The satire is now included in the article, in the new section In popular culture.

Sliders Portrayal in Wrong Section

[edit]

The paragraph about North's portrayal in Sliders should be in the section regarding Popular Media, not the section regarding his television and film appearances, as he himself did not appear in the TV show. PDAODOENAAOPEATBOMD (talk) 16:40, 26 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for the suggestion.
But what about this? "In Season 4, Episode 15 "Stanny Slickers II: The Legend of Ollie's Gold" of the TV series American Dad! Stan Smith searches under his house for Oliver North's hidden gold," where the American Dad! (season 4) actually refers to "Cornel North." Is that a parody of Col. North? I ask about this on that article's Talk page, and noted this in the present article. Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 18:09, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
